Ahh Venice! There are few locations which garner as many thoughts of romanticism. The canals, the gondolas, the bridges... I would choose Venice over Paris any day of the week! 

Why?

Venice, spread over dozens of tiny islands, is a must-see stop on anybody's travels through Italy. It is a major cultural, culinary and architectural hub.

Venice also hosts one of the most glamourous carnivals in the world. With elaborate masks and Golden Age costumes, revelers will feel transported to a different time.


Why not?

Depending on where you are currently located, Venice might not be the most affordable destination (and again, this is a bucket list, so it's filled with unaffordable destinations). You might want to check out hostels (if you're young and don't mind hostels).

You'll want to see it soon: with rising sea levels, Venice is in danger of being submerged and becoming a real Atlantis.
